Life in Limbo

Life is moving rather slowly for me at the minute. My parents’ house, which is now my house for the foreseeable future, is a gorgeous farmhouse in an amazing rural location. Fields stretch as far as the eye can see and the majority of the traffic that passes the bottom of our (long) drive is usually farm vehicles or cyclists. However there is one major drawback of moving back home, and that is the living in almost complete isolation. Luckily for me, I’m not the sort of person who needs to live life in the fast lane, I can usually be quite content with doing nothing and simply lazing the day away, however after living in Manchester for the last 4 years, it’ll be interesting to see how long I can stand being back on Cold Comfort Farm before I go completely insane.
I badly need to get on with writing my Mphil thesis, it’s such a horrible weight on my shoulders and I am sick of thinking about it. Spending 1 year studying 1 topic is mind-numbingly dull… perhaps I’m not cut out for doing a PhD in the future .
